Looking after your tyres
We know how important it is to keep your tyres in the best condition possible. Having the correct tyres doesn’t only mean your car is more fuel efficient and performs better; it means you’re safer on the road too.
Tyres are the only part of a vehicle which are in contact with the road. Acceleration, braking, cornering and steering safety all depend on a relatively small road contact area. So it is extremely important to have well maintained tyres with a tyre tread depth above the legal limit to ensure maximum safety and performance.
The legal tread limit in the UK is 1.6mm across 75% of the tyre. Not having the legal limit of tread on your tyres can cost you up to £2500 and 3 points!
If you’re not sure how to check your tyre tread or simply want some advice on tyre selection for your vehicle, call into one of our John Roe centres today. We can also check your tyre pressures for you at the same time!
